Had a green pool and a bad pump so I bought the highly rated Intex Krystal Clear Sand Filter Pump. Put in some pool clarifier from Leslies and it didn’t really fix it but the blue max shock definitely helped within hours!

What pool is that !?
How much was that pump??
With the clarifier i believe houre supposed to not run the pump
Run my sand filter pump 2 hours a day, and shock it with hth 7 in one once a week and always have at least 1-2 chlorine tabs in the float skimmer in the pool. “But” my pool has a tree hanging over it and it only in use once s week yet it still gets cloudy and algae build-up sometimes a little greenish. Once I shock it it clears up only for a day though. What am I doing wrong???
Did your pump come with sand?
Super shock it
That water is cloudy
I shocked our pool with good old fashioned bleach…
Do you run your sand filter 24/7? or only 4 to 6 hours?
No more green I love blue https://youtu.be/Atq7wGYMGek
You need to abandon The Pool Store methods and all of their products. The only thing you will ever need to maintain a pool is bleach baking soda borax and muriatic acid and maybe some conditioner for cya . Come over to TroubleFreePool.com and see how thousands of us are maintaining our pools much cheaper cost-effective efficiently and cleaner than with all the magic mystery potions that the pool store sells with simple Grocers items. Get rid of those guess strips. At the very least get an HTH 6-way tester kit for 15 bucks. Or go with a Taylor K 2006 or TF-100. Much more accurate. Used to use the Leslie's ultra-bright myself. It is good stuff but I'm going to say this if you have a sand filter is going to Gunk it up something awful and then you have to deep clean the sand. Clarifiers are unnecessary polymers you are adding to your water. Look up something called Duda diesel filter bag. You can buy these bags for five bucks on eBay and you can get them as low as 1 Micron to filtrate out even the finest of stuff that even that clarifier won't get. You attach the bag to an elbow screwed into your return jet. Been doing this for 6 years and 3 out of 6 Seasons I've had swampy green pools due to neglect in the fall. This year I cleared my pool same color as yours within 5 days using skimmer socks, the duda diesel bag, and maybe 3 to 4 gallons of bleach to shock the pool.
People need to learn that there's a cya to chlorine ratio.https://www.troublefreepool.com/content/128-chlorine-cya-chart-slam-shock
Stop using and buying the algaecide it is only a preventative measure. Algaecide only prevents algae from forming it does not cure it. Furthermore most algaecide either contain ammonium sulfide or copper sulfide and you don't want too much copper in your pool or it will turn green.
I just bought a pool and im wondering if you need to add salt to the water or should i just leave it like that
Even when it was green it was still clearer than your voice! Speak up man! FFS.
Maytronics is definitely the brand people must go for: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=s5OJX6c8lKM&t=86s
Cant hear you
Do you need algicide and your water needs to be flowing
I am sorry but i would like to politely disagree about the water clarifyier. you need to do it in steps. 1) Shock the heck out of the pool wait 30 to 1 hour. 2) Alageside to the pool add a couple more oz than requiered. Then 3) add the clarifyier 2 hrs later. The next day shock it again. You need to keep the chlorine level between 5.0 to 10.0 in a green pool to help kill off all the bacteria.
Where did you put the shock treatment in the pool or the sand filter b?
We just ordered this same filter/pump for our 18 x 52 Intex pool. We had the saltwater Intex saltwater system, but that is no longer working, so we decided to order this sand filter instead to replace it since it was so highly rated. Can't wait to get it next week!
